We are launching two courses this year: Album Release Planning and Social Media Marketing for Musicians. Both classes will focus on what is needed to make your release and campaigns successful.

You will receive a materials, exercises, and reading suggestions for both courses, along with hands on assignments to perfect your craft.

There will be two formats to this class: physical meet ups and also digital classrooms. If you cannot make the physical meet-ups, we will schedule a video session online.

2019 Industry Courses

Album Release Planning

Instructor: Athena Hiotis  

Course Info: Learn what you should do before, during, and after the release of your album to actually make fans and money through sales, streams, and merchandise; how to use social media to find fans; how press and marketing can help you; and how to book successful release shows to maximize the life of your record. We will also discuss budgeting options. You will receive reference packets and deadline templates to help you with the timeline, and you'll receive contact information of professionals that can help you in the process of making your album. There will be two formats to this class: physical meet ups and also digital classrooms.

Physical Meet up Schedule: 03/21, 04/25, 05/16, 06/27, 07/25 @7pm

Location: Chesapeake Arts Center: 194 Hammonds Ln, Brooklyn Park, MD 21225

Digital Meet up: This will be scheduled alongside the availability of the individual students. There are 5 total sessions associated with this class and they can be scheduled at a frequency that serves the student(s) best (weekly or monthly).


Social Media Advertising for Musicians

Instructor: Athena Hiotis  

Course Info: This class will focus on showing you how to correctly use social media advertising to find actual fans, how to sell them your music and merch, how to book a tour and sell tickets to your shows, and how to use Facebook and Instagram together to build your brand. You will receive reference text with step-by-step instructions on setting up campaigns, and exercises to help you get better at creating your own advertising campaigns. There will be two formats to this class: physical meet ups and also digital classrooms. If you cannot make the physical meet-ups, we will schedule a video session online.
